THE ANTWERP HERITAGE

From the 15th century to the world's diamond capital

The history of the craft I practise traces back to 15th-century Antwerp, with Lodewyk van Bercken, the legendary craftsman who invented the scaif, a polishing wheel impregnated with diamond dust, making perfect symmetry on every facet possible for the first time.

It was after the Second World War that Antwerp truly became the world's diamond capital. The return of diamond dealers, the creation of the Diamond Office in 1945 and the reopening of the Antwerpsche Diamantkring in 1946 made Antwerp the epicentre of world trade: at its peak, over 80% of the world's rough diamonds passed through it. It was in this unique ecosystem that my grandfather, and later my family, practised this craft.

The 4Cs, How to choose your diamond

The four official criteria used by the world's leading laboratories (HRD Antwerp, GIA) to determine the quality and value of a cut diamond.

1. Carat, Weight

A diamond's weight is expressed in carats. 1 carat = 0.2 grams = 100 points.

2. Colour, The white scale

Most diamonds range from colourless to slightly yellow. A perfect diamond is completely colourless.

My diamond dealer services in Paris

WHY CHOOSE ME

An independent diamond dealer in Paris, not a chain

Why an independent diamond dealer?

With no boutique network or Place Vendôme rents to finance, I source each diamond directly through my contacts on the world's major diamond bourses, Antwerp, Dubai, Tel Aviv, Surat, Hong Kong. Access to hundreds of thousands of GIA, HRD and IGI certified diamonds at professional trading prices, with a clear preference for traceable stones from verified, reputable dealers. The same standard of rigour as a major house, at a structurally lower price.

How an appointment works

Every appointment is private and without obligation, in my showroom in the 9th arrondissement, near the Opéra. We discuss your project and budget, I bring several certified diamonds matching your criteria, and you leave with a clear proposal, never any pressure to buy on the day.

Born 700 kilometres beneath the earth's surface, two billion years ago. Extracted from a mine in Angola or the Democratic Republic of Congo. Traded through the diamond dealers of Antwerp. Selected by an eye trained to recognise the exceptional. Then placed on your finger, in Paris, to mark a single moment: yours.

Traceability & ethics

Every natural diamond I select is certified by the world's leading laboratories, GIA, HRD Antwerp or IGI. I work exclusively with RJC-certified suppliers (Responsible Jewellery Council), fully compliant with the Kimberley Process. Tracr and iTraceIt tracking protocols complete this traceability from mine to finger, 100% natural, ethical and conflict-free stones.

By appointment only, at 33 rue de Mogador in Paris, or by video call if you're not in Paris yet. Book directly online or leave me a message.

Are your diamonds guaranteed natural and certified?

Yes, exclusively. Every diamond is natural, never treated or synthetic, accompanied by a GIA, HRD or IGI certificate confirming its characteristics.

Can I buy remotely, without coming to Paris?

Yes, many of my international clients choose their stone over video call before their visit, or complete the whole process remotely when travel isn't possible.

Do you also offer coloured gemstones?

Yes, alongside diamonds, I source rubies, sapphires and emeralds certified by recognised laboratories (GRS, SSEF, Gübelin, GIA, AGL and many others).

What's the difference with a regular jeweller?

An independent diamond dealer buys and selects the stones himself, without a middleman or multiple distributor margins. You get direct access to my expertise, from stone selection to the setting.
